We are approaching springtime and the flowers are starting to bloom and a sweet fragrance is filling the air. When gazing at a flower, we can become consumed by its beauty and it can have an uplifting effect on one's spirit. In our culture, we often give flowers as gifts to cheer others up or mark occasions and important events such as weddings. But did you know that flowers also have a healing essence that can help to heal emotions and thoughts patterns as well as give strength to your spirit? It's really amazing actually. In order to harness the healing essence of a flower, a fresh flower is floated atop pristine sacred water and left in the sun. The sunshine activates the flower and water so that the water absorbes the healing essence of the flower as a vibrational medicine. Then the elixir is stabilized with alcohol to preserve it. To get the benefit of healing, a few drops of the elixir is added to drinking water and sipped at intervals. The healing vibration of the flower essence works immediately to stabilize mood and heal from emotional stress. Shamans would often work with these healing essences as well as the spirits of the flowers. Evidence has been found in several shamanic cultures of the use of flower essences ranging from the ancient Maya, Egyptian and Aboriginal societies. Here are a few examples of the healing essence of flowers and their many benefits:
